Theory of Change
Conservation, education and community engagement
The Brief
Working with local communities to provide habitat management in Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns. You will find the Chiltern Rangers in the woodlands, chalk grasslands, commons, ponds and chalk streams. They also manage 13 nature reserves for Buckinghamshire Council.
John (Managing Director) and Diana (Business Manager) approached myself with an idea of revitalising their Theory of Change document to represent the brilliant ongoing conservation work they do. The document had become outdated and now lacked the desired purpose in which it was created for. To give a true reflection of the environmental and community impact that these wonderful volunteers have created through conservation.
After talking through the company vision for the document and being truly inspired by the Rangers, I was more than willing to take on the task of giving this Theory of Change document the revitalising new look it needed to represent the Chiltern Rangers.

The Solution
In the discovery call with the Chiltern Rangers, we discussed how they have a catalogue of incredible imagery waiting to be utilised. Maximising this beautiful imagery of the environment being managed in Buckinghamshire, supported by the key information to reflect the mission of the Rangers. This could only be achieved with constructing a new layout that complimented both the information and imagery. By using a combination of bold full page images, nature themed illustrations, branded colour pages and smaller icons extracted from the logo the information now has the perfect layout to attract the readers eye.
John and Diana where overwhelmed with the new refreshed look of the Theory of Change document. Giving a true reflection of the beautiful environments the Rangers and volunteers maintain, showcasing the benefits of their conservation in communities. They both commended me on the positive impact this new document will have on bring new investors in.
To expand the knowledge of the Chiltern Rangers mission they have sent printed copies of the document to Sir David Attenborough and his royal Majesty King Charles III, of which I have been told have been warming received by both.
βThe new design not only enhances visual appeal of the document but also effectively conveys our message and the importance of our work.β
